Harrison County Hospital Senior Care is specifically designed for the senior citizens of our community to provide guidance to cope with Life’s Challenges.

Helping Seniors Cope with:

  • Isolation and loneliness
  • Difficulty coping with health/physical changes
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Sleep or appetite changes
  • Feelings of hopelessness or helplessness
  • Anger
  • Low self-esteem
  • Personality changes

Senior Care is:

  • Confidential
  • Provides group, individual, and family therapy
  • Provides lunch during the treatment day
  • Coordinates client care with the individuals primary care physician
  • Last 6-12 weeks (2-3 days per week)
  • Provides follow-up care after discharge/graduation
  • Provides transportation to and from services within a 40 mile radius

Meet our Therapist:

Dashira Griffith, LCSW

Dashira received a bachelor and master degree in Social Work from University of Louisville. She has been practicing as a counselor for over 7 years. She has worked with minorities and low-income families and has experience with children adolescents, adults, seniors, family, and couples.

Dashira draws upon Person-Centered Therapy to meet patients where they are, implementing other approaches such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness, and others to treat anxiety, depression, trauma related issues and general life adjustments.

As a psychotherapist, Dashira uses research-based approaches that meet the needs of the patient to help them improve their strengths to foster meaningful growth in a safe and judgement-free environment.
