Technology Upgrade Brings New CT & MRI to HCH

Harrison County Hospital has recently invested in new upgrades to equipment in the Diagnostic Imaging Department to better care for the patients in our community. A new 128-slice Siemens go.Top CT machine and Siemems Aera 1.5T MRI machine have recently been installed.

The Siemens go.Top CT machine offers safer, faster scans and serves more patients with the ability to scan larger patients, patients with implants, fillings, and pacemakers, and low radiation lung cancer screenings. The new 128-slice CT scanner allows a patient to be scanned in seconds, and includes dose reduction software to minimize excess radiation on each patient. The Siemens go.Top is one of the first to be installed in the Ohio Valley Region.

The Siemens Aera MRI features an open bore design and is preferred for claustrophobic patients. The MRI machine includes high resolution imaging, faster exam time, and exceptional image quality providing our physicians with the most diagnostic confidence. State of the art metal reduction sequences make it possible to scan most patients with joint replacements. Patients may even be able to watch a movie during their scan!

For your next study, allow the certified technologists at the Harrison County Hospital Imaging Center to make you their top priority. For more information on the new MRI or CT, call 812-738-4251.
